sadanthem, the debut release from New York based Lostdog in Loveland, is a lush soundscape of infectious melodies with poignant stories told through a sophisticated ensemble of sounds and a deep luscious voice. The results are as one critic put it, “nothing short of brilliant… Pure candy for the ears.”

What makes this record truly special is David Bowie’s pianist Mike Garson and Regina Spektor’s cellist, Yoed Nir adding to the collective layers of instruments to complete the sound of Lostdog in Loveland, taking glam rock into an unexpected new realm.

The stand-out track is a cover of Roxy Music’s, Mother of Pearl. Lostdog in Loveland is able to make it their own with a slight flamboyant intimacy while paying undeviated respect to a classic masterpiece. Not an easy feat.

The songs on sadanthem are mostly introspective and touches on an array of themes. Loss, love, death, enlightenment, insecurity, self-awareness and wonder. sadanthem bounces between light and dark without ever feeling disconnected. Listen and get Lost.
